Major Jesse Razo
Major Razo began his career with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office in March of 1991. He attended the Basic Peace Officer’s Class #B1-93 at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Academy, and holds a Master Peace Officer License. He is a graduate of the HCSO Leadership Development Institute Class #1.
As a deputy Razo worked in the Patrol Bureau from 1995 – 2002. In 2002, he transferred to the Internal Affairs Division where he worked as an investigator until promoting to sergeant in 2004.
As a sergeant, he worked in Detentions, Criminal Intelligence, Patrol, Proactive Internal Affairs, and the Executive Bureau.
In 2016, he promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and was assigned to the Criminal Justice Command, until his promotion to Major in January 2017.
Major Razo is a recipient of two Sheriff’s Office Unit Citation awards. Major Razo is a veteran of the United States Army.
Major Razo and his wife of 21 years, Cynthia, have one son, Nicholas.

The Patrol Bureau provides continuous law enforcement coverage in the unincorporated area of Harris County. Patrol employees are dedicated to protecting life and property, preserving the peace and maintaining order, preventing or suppressing crime, investigating reports of crime and enforcing all state laws and applicable county ordinances with honor and professionalism. Unincorporated Harris County is home to over 1.5 million residents.
The Patrol Bureau has been progressively moving away from reactive patrol methods and instead, toward vigorously proactive and cutting-edge community based law enforcement techniques.
Patrol places a greater emphasis on saturation operations, uniformed interdiction teams, K-9 units, and other law enforcement specialties. Additionally, Patrol has embraced the use of statistical data collected from a variety of sources to assist the District Commanders when developing proactive policing strategies and establishing objectives and goals to respond to the needs of the community.
